Something Greater, My Poem in Avocet

Something Greater
Matt. 12:38-42

In the first bird
who keeps
singing
one note
pouring her
solitude
and longing
at last into
the waking
chorus
of morning

we
are reminded
with vigor
and relentlessness
that we are called to be
part of the chorus
and that something
far greater
than Jonah
and Solomon
is present
here with us.

If nature inspires you to write or take pictures, and you blog about that, let me know so I can have a look at your creativity too.

  1. We all need to hear this message and to grasp it... to embrace it.

  2. Thanks, Joey. So good to see you here. And you're right--the chorus would not be the music would not be as rich without your voice.

    Peace,

  3. The image of a chorus is a nice one. Even if we all sing a different key, we still might harmonize. :)

  4. Thanks, Matt. You're right. Sounds and voices are like colors. It would be shame if we only had a few on a limited sound-palette.

Hope you're having a wonderful week.

    Peace,
    Diane
